How COMSATS calculates merit
Merit = (Matric % Ć 0.10) + (HSSC % Ć 0.40) + (NTS score Ć· 100 Ć 50)
These weights are read from the COMSATS Fall 2026 merit calculator on its admissions portal, checked on 20 September 2026. The calculator's own code comments still mention older weights (30, 30 and 40); the figures it actually computes are 10, 40 and 50, and those are what this page uses.
Worked example
| Component | Result | Weight | Contribution |
|---|---|---|---|
| Matric | 900 / 1100 = 81.82% | 10% | 8.18 |
| HSSC | 880 / 1100 = 80% | 40% | 32.00 |
| NTS | 70 / 100 | 50% | 35.00 |
| Merit | 75.18% |
Notes from the COMSATS calculator
- Candidates awaiting their HSSC result submit first-year marks.
- For candidates awaiting A-Level results, the calculator says O-Level equivalence marks will be considered.
- Architecture and Art & Design programmes have an interview and a different formula.
How to use this calculator
- Enter your Matric percentage.
- Enter your HSSC percentage, or first-year percentage if HSSC is awaited.
- Enter your NTS score with 100 as the total.
- Read your merit and compare it with the latest COMSATS merit list for your programme.
Weights follow the COMSATS Fall 2026 merit calculator, read on 20 September 2026. Admission rules can change between intakes, so check the current COMSATS advertisement before relying on a figure.
